Lasalle Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (LCEI) was established by The Institute for Community Partnership at Bethlehem University to contribute to the development of the ICT sector and the small and medium enterprise sector through the proper preparation of university graduates in new-business development and management, and through providing them with the right environment to innovate. The center aims at promoting entrepreneurship and new business start-ups among university graduates as a mean for economical development and job creation.

The mission of the Lasalle Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation is to promote economical and social development throughout Palestine through cultivating and supporting entrepreneurial thinking, creativity, innovation, social entrepreneurship, and nurturing start-ups among Bethlehem University graduates and the entire Palestinian community.

Through various activities and events, LCEI strives to :

Build and nurture the entrepreneurial spirit and understanding across many disciplines at Bethlehem university and other Palestinian universities.
Contribute to the vision and mission of Bethlehem University and the ICP in serving the Palestinian community
Encourage innovation, creativity, and risk-taking
Foster innovation-driven entrepreneurship through incubation
Support university graduates and entrepreneurs who want to pursue an entrepreneurial venture
Promote Social Entrepreneurship among our entrepreneurs and graduates as an agent of change that will benefit disadvantaged communities and the entire society
Help developing industry and university linkages by funding market viable University research and development and create the opportunity for additional venture financing
In cooperation with the Fair Trade Development Center at ICP, promote Fair Trade principals among our entrepreneurs and start-ups
Provide career counseling and find career opportunities for BU graduates
Provide counseling, mentorship, seminars and workshops that focus on business planning, finance, accounting, legal as well as marketing and advertising.

LCEI is named after a social entrepreneur and educational pioneer, who through his vision and faith reformed the education system to better serve the poor and unprivileged. St. John Baptist De La Salle (1651-1719) founder of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, educational reformer, and father of modern pedagogy dedicated his life to educate the poor as a way for improving student’s living conditions and reaching their potentials.

The center strives to continue the mission of St. De La Salle and Bethlehem University’s Lasallian traditions by expanding the educational process started by BU to a new level where we assure that our graduates are well educated, trained, competent, and ready to make a positive impact to their life and the entire community. We hope to elevate poverty and promote economical and social development through providing necessary education and training to our students, and by helping them starting their own business and social enterprises.
